Coquimbo is
a city located in the North of Chile, one of the mysteries of the city is its
stories about pirates. Pirate Drake is the most remembered by the coquimbanos
story.
In the year
1578 pirate Drake discover the Bay of Coquimbo, in particular the Bay of
Guayacan, which became a meeting place and secret haven for all Corsairs and
pirates who sailed across the Pacific.
It is said
that this sector was a secure base for pirates who sought to steal gold, jewels
and things of the Spaniards in the Pacific, but had a greater emphasis on
attacking ships that passed with goods out there. It says that pirate Drake would have buried
one of treasures more large history in the Bay of Guayacan with more than 800
bars of silver, 100 gold, among many real belonging to the Kings of Spain.
This
treasure has ever been found; nowadays there are others who invest lots of
money to be able to find this great treasure.
